My name is Dr. Heather Wadeson, and I am a licensed psychologist in Springfield, Missouri. My background is in Clinical Health Psychology, which focuses on the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, stress, coping, and behavior.
Over the past decade, I have worked in a variety of clinical and academic settings. Each of these experiences has shaped the way I understand people, healing, and meaningful change.
My approach is holistic, individualized, and practical. I enjoy helping people better understand themselves, develop useful tools, and move toward greater balance in their lives. I believe therapy should support the whole person, not just a diagnosis or symptom.
In addition to being a licensed psychologist, I am also a registered yoga teacher. Yoga has been personally meaningful to me and has deepened my appreciation for the connection between the body, mind, and nervous system. When appropriate, I may integrate grounding, mindfulness, breathwork, or other body-based tools into therapy.
From 2019 to 2022, I served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Drury University, where I taught courses including Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Cross-Cultural Psychology, Holistic Health Practices, and Health Psychology and Community Interventions. Teaching helped strengthen my ability to explain complex concepts in clear, practical ways. I bring that same love of learning, resources, and skill-building into the therapy room.
Currently, I am pursuing my masters degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. Ideally, I would like to offer integrated services that focus on the emotional aspects of food in addition to the practical challenges that people face when making changes.
